Father's GardenDeborah Smith
Father's Garden
Music and Lyrics by Deborah Smith.

VERSE: There’s a home I used to know
I keep it here beside me
All of the doors led the way
Never felt lost, always had a place to lay

On the line the clothes would dance
With me and the wind like Isadora
Oh, how the walls would come down
‘Cause I felt safe, and warm, and sound
Now I can go back
Go back through

CHORUS: My Father’s Garden of music
It always takes me home
Tho the songs may never come back
I feel the love of my father
Fillin’ up my heart
Every time I hear his songs

VERSE: All my life I ran too fast
The here and the now was just a sideshow
Now with each hour passing by
I ask the Lord to help me hold on
To every moment
To each note of

CHORUS: “Repeat Chorus”

BRIDGE: Your safe cocoon kept my dreaming alive
Have you any idea how you clothe me
Now that I’m facing the road I chose
Have you any idea how you led me
Safely, in comfort
Now I’m here in

CHORUS: “Repeat Chorus”

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy EveningDeborah Smith
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Music by Deborah L. Smith. Lyrics from the Poem
"Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" published 1923
By Henry Holt

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though,
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sounds the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
